Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan clarified that the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) subsidy programme does not rely heavily on the Central Database Hub (Padu) system.
Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday (Sept 23), he said while Padu is valuable for managing large-scale data and analytics, the Budi95 scheme only requires two straightforward eligibility checks: Malaysian citizenship and a valid driving licence.
He stressed that Padu remains an important tool for broader policy-making.
