Watch the moment floodwaters hit Milan on September 22nd, as the River Seveso burst its banks and sent water surging through the city streets.
Michele Ikome, from Milan, Italy filmed the series of clips from Ca’ Granda and Via Fulvio Testi showing ankle-deep water covering roads.
While torrents gush out of manholes and drains unable to cope with the volume.
Cars creep through the submerged streets as pedestrians wade carefully along pavements.
The dramatic scenes quickly gathered over 1.5 million views on TikTok, with many shocked to see such flooding in Italy’s fashion capital.
One commenter said: ‘Milan looks more like Venice now.’
Another said: ‘Our drainage system are just not built to handle it.’
