Rescue and relief personnel from around Taiwan are in Hualien to help the battered town of Guangfu in the wake of Typhoon Ragasa.
A church in the township has become an unofficial evacuation site, as 700 people flocked there when the floodwaters rushed into the town. For the past two nights, they have been sleeping on church pews and many have not showered since Tuesday. Over 3,000 households in the town still do not have running water. They also cannot return to their homes without an official order.
