Typhoon Opong (international name: Bualoi) made its first landfall over San Policarpo, Eastern Samar at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, Sept. 26.
PAGASA said the typhoon may make a second landfall over either Sorsogon or Masbate in the next few hours before crossing Bicol Region, southern portion of Calabarzon, and northern Mimaropa.
