Hace un año celebrábamos el evento final de “Breaking the Beat”, nuestro primer intercambio juvenil Erasmus+.
Durante diez días jóvenes de Polonia, Rumanía, Italia, Alemania y España convivieron en Cercedilla, en la sierra de Madrid, aprendiendo y creando en torno a la cultura hip-hop: rap, grafiti y danza. Se atrevieron a subirse a un escenario, a pintar muros y a improvisar, para algunos por primera vez. Transmitieron que los orígenes del hip-hop siguen vivos, que la comunidad importa y que juntos se puede generar un impacto positivo. Porque el hip-hop une.
En ese proceso surgió música. Los participantes montaron un estudio improvisado en las habitaciones del albergue y trabajaron para dar vida a tres canciones originales, escritas, interpretadas y mezcladas allí mismo.
Hoy, en este aniversario, estrenamos esos temas. Este vídeo es uno de ellos; los otros dos están en nuestro canal para descubrir la música nacida de “Breaking the Beat”.
Queremos dar las gracias a los MC por poner voz a estas historias, a los writers por llenarlo todo de color y a los bailarines por expresar con cada movimiento lo que no se puede decir con palabras. Un agradecimiento especial a nuestros amigos y amigas: los que estuvisteis siempre, los que vinisteis a colaborar y a sumar energía y pasión. Sin vosotrxs nada de esto habría sido posible. Y al Sitio de mi Recreo por acogernos en Vallecas y dejarnos representar nuestro espíritu.

One year ago we celebrated the final event of “Breaking the Beat”, our first Erasmus+ youth exchange.
For ten days young people from Poland, Romania, Italy, Germany and Spain lived together in Cercedilla, in the mountains near Madrid, learning and creating around hip-hop culture: rap, graffiti and dance. They dared to step on a stage, paint walls and improvise —for some, for the first time— showing that the origins of hip-hop are still alive, that community matters and that together we can create a positive impact. Because hip-hop unites.
During that process music also emerged. Participants set up an improvised studio in the hostel rooms and created three original songs, written, performed and mixed right there.
Today, on this anniversary, we release these tracks. This video is one of them; the other two are on our channel to discover all the music born from “Breaking the Beat”.
We thank the MCs for giving voice to these stories, the writers for filling everything with colour and the dancers for expressing with each movement what cannot be said in words. A very special thank you to our friends: those who were always there, who came to collaborate and add energy and passion. Without you, none of this would have been possible. And to El Sitio de mi Recreo for welcoming us in Vallecas and letting us represent our spirit.
