Netanyahu says he supports Trump's peace proposal to end war in Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday endorsed US President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza, describing it as a critical step towards peace in the Middle East.
"I support your plan to end the war in Gaza, which achieves our war aims. It will bring back to Israel all our hostages, dismantle Hamas" military capabilities, end its political rule, and ensure that Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel," Netanyahu said at a press conference alongside Trump.
Netanyahu outlined the plan’s alignment with his government’s five principles for post-war Gaza, emphasizing the return of hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, the demilitarization of Gaza, and Israel’s continued security oversight. He also said Gaza would have a civilian administration "neither run by Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority."
