MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a serious left knee injury during Monday night’s 27-21 victory over the New York Jets, coach Mike McDaniel confirmed. Hill was hospitalized overnight for further testing, and early indications suggest the injury will sideline him for the remainder of the season.
According to sources who spoke with ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hill dislocated his knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL. Surgery was scheduled for Tuesday, with doctors hoping to repair the damage and begin mapping out a recovery plan.
Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, accompanied him to the hospital and provided details in an interview with WSVN 7News. “We’re making sure we understand the full scope of the injury,” Rosenhaus explained. “They’re checking ligaments, cartilage, bone structure, blood flow—everything that comes with such a significant dislocation. We’ll know more once the MRI and CT scans are fully evaluated.”
The play that caused the injury was described by many as horrific, silencing the crowd at Hard Rock Stadium. Hill was carted off the field but managed to raise his hand and acknowledge the Miami fans, drawing an emotional response from the crowd.
On Tuesday morning, Hill posted a video message from his hospital bed on X (formerly Twitter), thanking fans across the NFL for their prayers and support. “I appreciate all the love,” Hill said in the clip. “I’ll keep fighting, and I’ll be back stronger.”
The Dolphins now face the daunting challenge of competing without their most explosive playmaker. Hill’s absence leaves a significant gap in Miami’s offense and raises questions about how the team will adapt heading into the final stretch of the 2025 NFL season.
