Schwarzenegger hails Pope Leo as 'action hero' as pair urge global climate solution
Pope Leo was praised as an "action hero" by Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday, October 1, for his environmental leadership, including a directive to install solar panels across Vatican rooftops.
Speaking at a climate-focused event in Castel Gandolfo, the pope's summer residence, Schwarzenegger invoked his iconic role from The Terminator to rally support for climate action.
“We can go and terminate pollution. We can go and wipe it out,” he said.
The actor was throwing his weight behind Pope Leo's efforts to encourage world leaders to address global climate change and transition away from fossil fuels.
