Police issued 7,013 summonses in the first two days of the enforcement phase of Ops PUU (Law Compliance Operation) in Kuala Lumpur, followed an advocacy campaign held from Sept 6 to 30 to promote road safety, traffic discipline, and crime prevention.
City police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus on Friday (Oct 3) said most of the offences were for obstructing traffic.
Fadil warned that stern action will continue against violations such as speeding, using mobile phones while driving, running red lights, failing to wear seatbelts, and riding without helmets.
