Almost 30 thousand Hondurans have returned to the country voluntarily or were deported from various places of origin so far in 2025, according to the National Institute of Migration (INM). Of the 29,749 arrivals recorded until September 25, most were deportations, followed by regular and voluntary returns. According to INM data, the United States tops the list of countries of origin with 22,595 people, followed by Mexico with 3,798 and Guatemala with 3,318. Despite U.S. President Trump’s strict immigration policy and threats of mass deportations, returns to Honduras have decreased.
