DOH welcomes probe into alleged program irregularities, 'ghost health centers'
Health Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo tells The Manila Times_ on Oct. 4, 2025 that the department welcomes an investigation into the Department of Health’s Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) Program and alleged 400 'ghost health centers.' The DOH Issued the statement after Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said his group, Mayors for Good Governance, would investigate the MAIFIP. Congress also questioned the department's so-called 'ghost health centers,' after it was revealed that only 200 out of the 600 built under the health facilities enhancement program (HFEP) were functional.
