The Iranian government has declared that its agreement with the United Nations nuclear agency is no longer viable following the reinstatement of sanctions against the country. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that new decisions must be made after the U.N. re-imposed a 10-year sanctions package on Iran. He also demanded the reestablishment of direct negotiations with the United States regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Additionally, Araghchi called for clarification on the 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium that the International Atomic Energy Agency claims Iran possesses.
