Malaysia to continue prioritising PD policy to tackle kidney health issues, says Dr Dzul

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said at the 18th Annual Dialysis Conference in Selangor on Oct 11 that chronic kidney disease remains as one of the major “silent health crises” in Malaysia with more than five million Malaysians or 15% of the population living with the disease.

Dr Dzulkefly said while prioritising the peritoneal dialysis (PD) policy, the ministry would ramp up more awareness programmes to educate the people and make screenings more available to anyone who might have contracted with the disease.
