Watch the raw power of Iceland’s Sundhnúksgígar Volcano, part of the Reykjanes Peninsula’s active fissure system.
Captured by filmmaker Chetan Kapoor from Germany, during a seven-kilometre pre-dawn trek, the video shows the volcano in all its fiery glory.
While the lava appears solid, the filmmaker warns viewers to never walk on it, as it can remain dangerously hot and unstable underneath.
The clip immerses viewers in the intensity of Iceland’s volcanic awakening, offering a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse of nature in motion.
