newly discovered comet named C/2025 R2 (SWAN) was spotted on September 11 2025 by data from the SOHO spacecraft’s SWAN instrument. It is expected to brighten in October and may be visible with binoculars or even the naked eye from dark‐sky locations. It’s a rare celestial visitor with a long orbital period—observable perhaps only once in many thousands of years.
