Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the United States to remain open to supplying Ukraine with long-range weapons, saying they are crucial both as a “deterring factor” and a tool of defense.
Speaking via video link from eastern Ukraine during a European Union enlargement event in Brussels, Zelensky also thanked the EU for its 19th sanctions package against Russia and expressed optimism about Ukraine’s path to full EU membership before 2030.
“We need the support of the U.S. We need the support of President Trump about that. It will be a decisive pressure against Russia,” Zelensky said.
