Filmed by Xiunan Zhang, from Xuzhou, China, the clip captures the tense yet touching moment as the workers carefully dismantle the fountain to free the frightened kitten.
After a few delicate attempts, the little feline is safely pulled out and gently cradled in someone’s lap, a perfect “welcome home” moment that melted hearts.
The video quickly went viral on Douyin, gathering over 31,000 likes, with many confused about how the kitten got in there in the first place.
Xiunan said: “We’ve been hearing meows for 3 days but could never find where it’s coming from."
"When we finally found out where it’s coming from, we quickly called up a contractor to come and save the kitten, we were really worried as the meows were getting weaker and weaker."
“The kitten is fine now, she got adopted by a nice family and is living her life.”
