A small crab trapped in a discarded fishing net was saved from certain death after being spotted struggling on a remote beach.
The moment was filmed by Jasper Wilkins, 32, originally from Birmingham, UK, a digital nomad and conservation activist currently travelling the world, while visiting Ko Libong, Thailand.
Jasper shared how he noticed a couple by the water examining a small boat and went to see what they were doing.
At closer inspection to find out they was carefully freeing a crab ensnared in a tangled net.
The group worked together to cut it loose using a pair of scissors from the couple’s backpack.
The crab is later seen thriving, walking along the beach.
Jasper said: “I was thinking that these people were nice to help a small crab on their holiday.
"Most people only seem to care about animals that are considered cute, such as dogs, dolphins or cats,
" So it’s nice when people care about exploited animals such as crabs, chickens or pigs.
“I have been passionate about nature conservation for a while, so I decided to use tech to help preserve biodiversity and protect important ecosystems.
“As a vegan, I get inspired by people who are passionate about protecting animals.
“If you love the ocean, help raise awareness about how people can protect it.
"Commercial fishing is very bad for marine life.
“Becoming plant-based is also one of the simplest ways that individuals can help prevent the killing of marine life and ocean pollution.”
