Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the commissioning and flag-presenting ceremony of the Fujian (Hull 18), China’s first aircraft carrier equipped with electromagnetic catapults, in Sanya, Hainan Province.
Fully designed and built in China, the Fujian represents a major technological milestone for the Chinese Navy, enabling aircraft to take off with heavier payloads and extended range.
With a displacement of over 80,000 tons, it is the largest conventionally powered warship in the world, marking a new era in China’s naval capabilities.
