UAAP: FEU downs La Salle behind Mongcopa’s game winning basket
Kirby Mongcopa scored the go-ahead bucket as Far Eastern University nipped De La Salle University, 84-83, in the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum Sunday, November 16.
Mongcopa delivered the winner with 26.2 seconds left off Janrey Pasaol assist as the Tamaraws' defense held on for the rest of the way to seal the win.
FEU improved to 5-7 for sixth place to stay in contention for a Final Four berth while La Salle dropped to 6-5 in fourth.
Mongcopa finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assits to pace the Tamaraws.
