A brave bunch of buffaloes chased away a pride of lions after one lunged at a member of the herd.
Amos Odupapa was leading a tour through Maasai Mara, Kenya, when five lions set their sights on a herd of more than 150 buffalo.
Dramatic footage captured the moment when one of the predators jumped on the back of a buffalo that had broken away from the group.
After the unsuccessful hunt, the rest of the buffalo decided to turn the tables and chase the lions across the savannah.
Amos said: “In most cases the buffaloes win encounters like this because of their numbers advantage.
“Lions are not good in hunting big herd of buffaloes but they are good in hunting three or four at a time.
“The encounter took about two and half hours although on intervals or resting and fighting again.”
