About the game:
Action 52 is an infamous unlicensed multicart video game compilation released for the NES in 1991 and for the Sega Genesis in 1993. Developed by Vince Perri of Active Enterprises, it features 52 mostly poorly designed games, with The Cheetahmen as its flagship title. Despite a high initial price and claims of legitimacy, Action 52's poor quality and rushed development led to widespread criticism. The developers, including Mario González, rushed through the project with little time for testing or fixing bugs. Plagiarized music and technical issues further marred its reputation. Despite negative reviews, Action 52 remains notable for its rarity and notoriety among collectors.

The entirety of Action 52 has also been famously reviewed by internet personality and YouTube content creator James Rolfe (as his persona, the Angry Video Game Nerd) in the 90th episode of the fifth season, which originally aired on YouTube on July 21, 2011. Despite his comedic exaggerations, the review pointed out severe cases of repeating themes, crashing or non-functional games, critical bugs, and misleading titles.
