Bono and Brangelina are not the only stars who can lay claim to the showbiz saint crown - Craig David is the latest recruit to the do-gooding club.
The singer was recently named a UN Goodwill Ambassador against Tuerculosis. The 28-year-old said he reached a time in his life when he felt he wanted to help. But with a star getting behind a good cause every other week, the chart topper is aware the public are becoming more cynical.
"People tend to think that with celebrities there's a profile thing you're looking for with charities," said Craig.
"But for me, I feel if I can save one life through what I'm doing and that inspires one other person to save another life, then it's all good," he added.
The Born To Do It star was introduced to the issue by Portuguese football legend Luis Figo.
He said: "There's a lot of hard work to be done, but it's a curable disease.
"It's something that people think is in third world countries, but actually it's here. London has some of the highest figures for the disease in Western Europe."
