STORY: Chanting "Your elections are a farce," and "shame" thousands of protesters turned out in Russia's second city at St. Petersburg's Pioneer Square on Saturday to protest last weekend's State Duma, Russian lower house of parliament, poll and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
About five thousand people gathered on Yekaterinburg's central Labour square for an unsanctioned anti-election rally on Saturday
Police said 25,000 people packed Moscow's Bolotnaya Square. Opposition organisers claimed up to 100,000 people attended the rally.
