The Internal affairs and environmental committee confirmed on Tuesday, December 7th to dry out a part of the Kinneret Lake in order to build a new hotel. The plan includes drying 15 dunam of coastline by pouring dirt over it. That way the new hotel will be in accordance with its legal right to stand at a desirable distance from the inland sea. The head of the committee, Dov Hanin, drew his hands out of the attempt to battle this permit since other hotels were permitted to do the same thing in the past. Yet he did request that there will be as little harm as possible to the already damaged environment.
