Chileans angry over shoddy earthquake reconstruction

Families of earthquake victims protest in Santiago, Chile.

Angry over reconstruction efforts, they gather outside the government site of La Moneda on the second anniversary of the earthquake.

Protesters claim the government is using shoddy construction materials to repair some 30 billion U.S. dollars in damage.

As they walk through the streets with mock houses made of cardboard, police unleash water cannons on the crowd.

Many blame President Sebastian Pinera for not doing enough.

The 8.8 magnitude quake and subsequent tsunami killed more than 500 people on February 27, 2010.
