Sanctum 2 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Sanctum 2 on the Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 developed by Coffee Stain Studios and published by D3Publisher. There are a lot of games like Sanctum 2, but you have to combine two of them to get the same effect. That's because Sanctum 2 is a unique hybrid of two very different genres, mixing the shooting action of the FPS with the turret-placing of tower defense. The game's sci-fi story is told through comic-like stills, detailing a struggle between your four selectable characters and a horde of monsters trying to attack the core. You start Sanctum 2 by placing towers and creating a maze, and then, the game turns into a shooter. It's a tower defense game that actually places you in the trenches.
